Frequently Asked Questions

1.   How long does it take to get scuba certified?
You can be certified in as little as three days, depending on how long you would like to devote each day to training and provided you have read the book and completed the workbook prior to the beginning of the course. Don't have three days?  Inquire about a Passport Scuba course, which can be completed in one day.

3. How old do you need to be to get certified?
Anyone over the age of 10 years old can be certified to scuba dive for a lifetime in a Scuba Diver /Jr. Scuba Diver Course.

4.  What is needed to get certified?
Your own snorkel gear is needed (includes scuba-rated mask, fins, and snorkel), a  clean bill of health, and a swimsuit.  All other gear is provided.

5. What if I do not have my own gear already?
If you do not own snorkel gear already, I can meet you at a local dive shop to help you select quality gear, or I would be glad to make recommendations to you about where to go to find some.  I have scuba gear for you to use during your training (which gives you a chance to learn what you might like to look for when you invest in scuba gear of your own).  If you would like to purchase your own scuba gear before or after the course, I would be glad to help make your selections.

6.  Do you offer group discounts?
Yes. The more you bring, the more you save!

7.  How do we get certified, explain the process?
Once you have read the book and completed the workbook, we will meet to do classroom, pool/confined water sessions, and your open water dives! Open water dives in the Miami area are done off the beach and on a dive boat.  Course days are scheduled to meet the needs of the student/groups.  Lessons are catered to each diver/group of divers.  Courses can be weekdays, weekends, or a combination.    Portions of the training can be completed in other locations, for an additional fee.

8.   What does the basic scuba diving course include?
Course includes books/materials, instructor fees, pool fees, boat fees, certifications fees, and scuba gear rental.
